Several big names have turned down invitations to compete in the BWF World Championships which will take place in Huelva, Spain from 12 to 19 December 2021.
The players who have withdrawn include Chen Long and Shi Yu Qi in the men’s singles and in the women’s singles, Zhang Beiwen who got injured during the Tokyo Olympics.
In addition, Li Jun Hui/Liu Yu Chen and Marcus Ellis/Chris Langridge also declined the invitation in the men’s doubles category, Du Yue/Li Yin Hui in the women’s doubles, Hafiz Faizal/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja and He Ji Ting/Du Yue in the mixed doubles.
