81 players from the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) will get Covid-19 vaccines on Friday, February 26 at the Istora Senayan Stadium in Jakarta.

World no. 1 Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo is not included in the list of players to be vaccinated. According to the country’s guidelines, persons who have been exposed to the virus need to wait three months before the vaccine is administered.

In December 2020, Sukamuljo tested positive for Covid-19 and cancelled his participation from the tournaments in Thailand.

A list of 93 players was submitted by PBSI for vaccination. Out of these, only 81 players were approved by the Ministry of Health, Indonesia.

PBSI’s Head of Public Relations and Media, Broto Happy confirmed to CNN that top players Mohammad Ahsan, Hendra Setiawan, Fajar Alfian, Rian Ardianto, Greysia Polii, Apriyani Rahayu and Marcus Gideon are included in the list.

The second dose of the vaccine will be administered at the RSON (national sports hospital) or at the nearest hospital in collaboration with the local health office.
