After winning the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, many changes have come towards Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik’s life, one of which is fame.

Wooi Yik’s followers on Instagram skyrocketed from a mere 20,000 to 200,000. The 23-year-old told The Star, “I was shocked when I opened my Instagram after the third-place bronze medal match. It kept vibrating throughout the night.

“We will stay humble and keep on learning. We did not have a good experience after winning a silver at the 2019 All-England. After that success, we put too much pressure on ourselves… It affected our game. This time, we should keep this momentum and stay hungry for success.”

After winning the bronze, the duo did not even take a holiday to meet with their family. Wooi Yik and Aaron are currently focusing on the preparations of the upcoming Sudirman Cup and the Thomas Cup, where they will be Malaysia’s first men’s doubles in the team ties.
