Richard Mainaky will resign as mixed doubles coach of the Indonesian team on 27 September 2021, after the completion of the Sudirman Cup.

“Verbally, last week I expressed my desire to retire to Rionny Mainaky (Head coach of PBSI) and Alex Tirta (Daily Chairman of PBSI) and I gave an official letter of resignation today,” the 56-year-old coach told CNN.

The resignation plan had been in place since last year but was delayed due to the pandemic. Mainaky plans to open a badminton school in the near future, he also expressed his desire to spend more time with his family after retiring.
