Kento Momota will compete as the captain of the Japanese team in the Sudirman Cup which will be held in Vantaa, Finland from 26 September to 3 October 2021.
Momota told Badminton Spirit, “Looking back at the Olympics, I feel that my perspective narrowed because I felt that I had to win because it was the Olympics. That’s how I feel looking back, so this time I’m going to turn it (my mind) on and off. It’s a team match and the Japanese team members are very close, so I think we can play in a good atmosphere. I want to relax and do what I can.”
“The seniors are gone, so the team is really young. There are no more seniors to rely on, so I think it would be great if everyone can overcome this,” he added.
