Secretary-General of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) said they were contemplating the newly announced Denmark Open I & II, as reported by New Straits Times. He said it was a difficult choice either way, despite having given safety assurances by the BWF.

One of the protocols is no 14-day quarantine for players on arrival to Denmark. To this Goh said, “To be honest, it is an issue either way. If a 14-day quarantine period were to be implemented, then no team would want to participate.”

Goh continued to say that there could be no guarantee in the current global situation and that they had to make the best of what they had. He said Malaysia had not decided whether to participate in Denmark Open I & II after the completion of the Thomas and Uber Cup.

He said that once BWF announced new details about the unfreezing of the world rankings, the decision would be made. He added, “Since they are Super 750 events, not all of our players will be able to qualify.”
