The Badminton Asia (BA) officially cancels the third edition of the Asia Mixed Team Championships. The team event was scheduled for Wuhan, China in February 2021.
It is reported that the Chinese government has cancelled all international sporting events for the rest of the year and it is uncertain when the government would give a green signal for the event.

However, Wuhan is the confirmed host of the Badminton Asia Championships scheduled for April 2021.
The Star quoted Bambang Rudy Roedyanto, Event Committee chairman of the BA as saying, “We have decided that there will be no Asia Mixed Team Championship next year as we could not get any country to host it.
“But the Asia Championships (individual) in April is definitely on for now with Wuhan confirmed as the hosts.”
