After the final point of the match was scored, Lee Zii Jia and Axelsen shook hands at the net. Lee asked Axelsen if he wanted to exchange shirts and Axelsen obliged.
Later, Lee Zii Jia said, “All my fans know that Axelsen is my idol, and I would use this opportunity to exchange shirts with him. It is a very special moment for me.
“Hopefully I can keep the game and the performance that I delivered here, and if I can, then there will be opportunities to play more matches against top players like Axelsen, Ginting, Momota and all of them.”
