Badminton Association of Indonesian (PBSI) has made plans to hold a training camp in Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan two weeks before the Olympics to acclimatize its players for the tournament. The training camp will last for 2 to 3 weeks.

Seven Indonesian players/pairs have qualified for the Olympics – Marcus Fernaldi Gideon / Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan, Greysia Polii / Apriyani Rahayu, Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti, Jonatan Christie, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.

PBSI will also be taking several other players as sparring partners to the training camp.
