Malaysian legend Lee Chong Wei is set to return on the court at the Yonex MIX & MATCH (Malaysian event) on 28 December.

Not only Lee but also his wife Wong Mew Choo, Tan Wee Kiong and Goh V Shem are all set to join Lee for the event. Lee said he was keeping his fingers crossed that the event came to fruition.

Lee: “If everything goes according to plan, I’ll participate for sure. My wife would most probably tag along too, so will Wee Kiong and V Shem.”

Other members of the national team will not be participating as another company sponsors the national team.

According to The Star, the organisers were in the midst of planning the event but the fate of the event depended on what the government allowed as the venue came under the Klang Valley where the government imposed conditional movements due to Covid-19.

The Yonex MIX & MATCH is a series of events organised by Yonex to promote badminton all over the world under it’s Legends Vision.

The first event was held last Sunday in Japan where players like Kento Momota, Akane Yamaguchi, Takeshi Kamura and so on participated. The next event is in Seoul, South Korea on 5 December.
