The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has granted 6 million USD to be invested in the “Bringing Badminton Back” programme. It will focus on providing an equal level of development to each Member Association (MA).

The programme was approved in October 2019 for the period 2020 to 2024. But due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the funds would only be dispensed from early November of this year.

“Bringing Badminton Back” will support, assist and develop badminton in the MAs.

David Cabello, BWF Chair – Development & Sport For All Committee said, “The programme is designed to support Capacity Building of Member Associations – which is one of the five strategic priorities of the BWF Strategic Plan.

“Just last week we issued 13 Membership Grant Agreement letters to Member Associations who had completed and submitted the Activity Support Budget 2020 document.

“This letter outlines the funding and support we provide to them. We feel this is a valuable exercise for BWF to undertake and we’re excited to see the outcomes in the next 12 months.”
