Must enter the Asia Open I and Asia Open II.
Earlier the Badminton World Federation (BWF) stipulated that players who are looking to qualify for the World Tour Finals must participate in both the European and the Asian leg of tournaments. But with the revised tournament calendar BWF scraped this rule due to safety and quarantine procedures.
Now, players are required to participate in the Asia Open I and Asia Open II to qualify for the World Tour Finals that will be held in January 2021 in Bangkok.
World Rankings Unfreezing.
Ranking points will be awarded to tournaments that have been played in 2020 (after 17 March 2020), namely
- DANISA Denmark Open 2020
- SaarLorLux Open 2020
- YONEX Latvia International 2020 (completed)
- FZ FORZA Bulgaria International Championship 2020 (completed)
The World Ranking unfreezing will occur at a later date, which will be announced. Therefore, the points from the mentioned tournaments will be added once the unfreezing of the rankings start.
The seeding for tournaments until the unfreezing will be based on the frozen World Ranking as per 17 March 2020.
