Anders Antonsen used an amusing tactic yesterday during his match against Kanta Tsuneyama in the quarter-finals. During a rally in the third game, when both the players were equally exhausted, Antonsen shouted “COME” every time after hitting a very high clear, inviting Tsuneyama to attack; he shouted “Come” at least 3 times during a single rally.

Tsuneyama fell for the trap, kept smashing, lost the rally and ended up wasting his energy.

After the match, Antonsen revealed: “It is an old trick which I once saw Christian Lind use against Bao Chunlai in the China Open.”
