Indonesia’s mixed doubles coach Richard Mainaky welcomes the 11×5 scoring system and admitted that he had been training his players in a similar scoring format from time to time.

Taking Praveen Jordan to make his point, Mainaky said, “He (Jordan) is the type of player who needs to warm up first . So we have used this scoring pattern in training to help him warm up more quickly when he is competing.”

“With the 11×5  points, athletes cannot beat around the bush. They must focus from the start. Maybe stamina will not play a big effect, but speed will. So the player must be able to endure fast speed,” he added.
