Indian ace P.V. Sindhu has decided to withdraw from the Thomas and Uber Cup scheduled for October. According to Sportstar, the world champion cited “personal reasons” for her withdrawal from the team championships.

The Thomas and Uber Cup will be the first major international tournament after the All England Championships. Sindhu is one of the Olympic hopefuls who has been selected to train at the national training centre under national chief coach P. Gopichand and Park Tae Sang.

Members of the Indian national team are training at different facilities at the moment. While Satwiksairaj Rankireddy is in self-isolation as he tested positive for Covid-19. An official announcement of the Indian team’s participation in Denmark is awaited.
