Viktor Axelsen did some wild celebrations after winning his quarter-final match against Lee Zii Jia yesterday at the Denmark Open.

Axelsen put both his hands up and pumped the air repeatedly in delight. He followed it up with a celebration which was almost similar to the famous “Siii” celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo.

After the match, Axelsen told TV2, “Maybe it (the celebration) was a little over the top. I’m really happy. This victory means more to me than you might expect. I really wanted to do well here. People are standing (up for me) here Friday night at 10 pm. I really wanted to win.”

“I lost the final to him in All England, and I of course like to prove that even in conditions that suit him a little better, I can deliver.”
