Former World champion Viktor Axelsen is recovering well from his ankle surgery last month. He is positive that he could return to “full vigor” in about 4 to 5 weeks.

Speaking to Sport Tv2, Axelsen said, “The ankle is getting better and better. It has gone really well. There have been no problems after I threw the rail. Now I am in the process of my rehabilitation.

I reckon I will be back in full vigor within 4-5 weeks if all goes well. I hope and believe it does.” Axelsen said he was looking forward to compete in tournaments again even if tournaments required isolation.

“For me personally, it is January, I look forward to, where it has been announced that we will play tournaments in Asia…That is my big goal, but first and foremost the goal is to get back in top shape.”

“I’m ready to be in the bubble. We need to back it up. Other sports have shown that it can be done. I am very much looking forward to competing again,” Axelsen added.
