Indonesia will go up against defending champions China tomorrow in the final of the 2021 (2020) BWF Thomas Cup.
Indonesia won their semi-final tie against host country Denmark 3-1 with Jonatan Christie producing an excellent performance to beat Anders Antonsen in a very crucial match.
In the other semi-final tie, China defeated Japan 3-1.
Indonesia and China have met a total of 5 times in the final of the Thomas Cup since its inception, with China having a slight advantage of 3-2 in the head to head record.
However, in the modern era, post 1990, the two countries have met only twice in the final – in 2000 and 2010.
In their last meeting in 2010, Indonesia won the Thomas Cup by defeating China 3-0.
