Tan Wee Kiong’s new doubles partner will be Tan Kian Meng, who is currently ranked 12 in the mixed doubles world ranking.

According to The Star, it was Tan Wee Kiong who ended the partnership with Goh V Shem and not the other way around.

V Shem said, “Our sponsorship deal with Yonex ended recently and Wee Kiong has made his own plans. Obviously it would be great if we can play on until the year end, but since he has made up his mind, I’ll just have to respect his decision.”

V Shem and his new partner Low Juan Shen will participate in the Chinese Taipei Open next month.

Tan Wee Kiong and Tan Kian Meng, on the other hand, won’t be appearing in the tournament as they are still in midst of securing a sponsorship deal.

Wee Kiong said, “Kian Meng and I have verbally agreed to team up but we’re still in the midst of securing sponsorship. Hopefully we will be able to strike one soon and get back into action.”

V Shem and Wee Kiong, however, have agreed to team up for the World Championships later this year in Spain if they qualify for the tournament.
