Chinese Taipei’s top government official in charge of sport affairs, Chang Shao-hsi (Director-General of Sports administration), tendered his resignation yesterday following President Tsai Ing-wen’s apology for the undesirable flight arrangements for its Olympic athletes.

The apology from the President was prompted after Tai Tzu Ying posted a photo and expressed her dissatisfaction with the economy class flight seat on which she was travelling to Tokyo, an issue which quickly became national headlines.
