Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is planning to allow spectators inside the Axiata Arena for the Malaysia Open, 25-30 May 2021. The national association is waiting for the green light from the National Security Council and the Ministry of Health.
BAM President Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria said, “In terms of the percentage (of fans allowed in), perhaps we can use the guidelines from the MFL (Malasyian Football League).”
A maximum of 1600 spectators will be allowed to watch the Malaysia Open inside the stadium if the same guidelines as the MFL are followed.
He also added that the Malaysia open will apply the same bubble concept that was used during the Asian circuit in Bangkok, Thailand.
