Tokyo Olympics qualifications will resume in March. Singapore named to host a set of three tournaments as part of the campaign to resume the qualifications for Tokyo.

Tim He Yiming, Hong Kong head coach, told South China Morning Post, “We were told the world body will resume the qualification event in March with three open tournaments that will all take place in Singapore.

“This is to be done possibly for the sake of pandemic control to minimize air travel for the players and ensure safety.”

The Race to Tokyo rankings was last updated in April after the Covid-19 worsened globally. Kento Momota, Chen Yu Fei, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota and Huang Ya Qiong/Zheng Si Wei are all on top of the table in their respective disciplines.
