The Badminton World Federation (BWF) reported that all 824 participants in the ‘Green Zone’ quarantine at the cluster tournaments in Bangkok, Thailand tested negative for Covid-19.

The BWF and the Badminton Association of Thailand (BAT) have been working closely with the Government of Thailand to make the tournaments a reality. The negative results of all the participants are sure to give the tournament organisers a big morale boost.

The ‘Green Zone’ participants consist of players and their entourage, umpires, line judges, BWF personnel, BAT, medical staff, and TV production crew.

The tournaments are conducted under strict safety protocols and in compliance with the Department of Disease Control of Thailand’s requirements. Every participant is expected to be in the ‘Green Bubble’ for the entire duration of the tournaments and would also undergo regular Covid-19 tests throughout the quarantine period.
