All England Champion Lee Zii Jia missed the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination that were administered to Malaysian athletes yesterday. According to his coach Hendrawan, he has been ill for the last two days, most likely due to fatigue from attending numerous functions.

“Yesterday (Monday), we checked with the doctors at the National Sports Institute (NSI), and they said he won’t be able to receive the vaccine jab … It’s normal fever, his swab test came back negative and he has also done a blood test for suspected dengue fever,” said Hendrawan.

He will be vaccinated on a rescheduled date, Hendrawan confirmed.
