“Opponents also faced the same problem, so this cannot be used as a reason.”

Lee Zii Jia’s poor form at the Asian series of tournaments which was concluded last week has put coach Hendrawan in an unsafe situation. Former Malaysian player Roslin Hashim believes that Hendrawan’s coaching style does not suit Lee.

Lee lost in the quarterfinals of the Yonex Thailand Open and the first round of the Toyota Thailand Open. In the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals, he did not win a single match in the group stage.

Reported by My All Sports, Roslin said that Misbun Sidek, who is currently coaching younger players, has his own style of coaching which is much suited for Lee and Sidek can help the world No. 9 prepare for the Tokyo Olympics.

“It cannot be said that the impact of being trapped in the epidemic for too long without a match, other opponents also faced the same problem, so this cannot be used as a reason. Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has to do something. Misbun was the previous coach of Lee, I believe he can help.”

Roslin stressed that with only six months to the Tokyo Olympics, Lee must find a solution for the problems he faced in Thailand and find the best coach for himself. “This is not to belittle Hendrawan, perhaps it can be said that their styles are not suitable. I believe Malaysian fans will accept this fact.”

He added, “I believe that if Misbun is now responsible for training Lee, he can focus on following all training schedule and get back to his true level.”
