Speaking to Hani.co.kr, An Se Young said: “I thought I wanted to go to the Olympics, but I didn’t think this opportunity would come so soon.”

An Se Young is only 17 years old. In 2019, she won 5 BWF tour titles.

Last year, she beat most of the big names including Akane Yamaguchi, Saina Nehwal, Carolina Marin, PV Sindhu, Tai Tzu Ying and compatriot Sung Ji Hyun. She is a big hope for Korean badminton in the coming Olympics.

“There is the burden of expectations from fans and media, but I will try to overcome it as much as I can. If I win a medal, I might do a dance.”

The youngster did a Fortnite floss dance during the Uber Cup 2018 held in Thailand. This was her first big tournament. Prior to this she had not participated in any BWF World Tour or Super Series or Grand Prix tournament. At the time, she was not a well-known name in the badminton world. So her floss dance might have gone amiss by most.

The game Fortnite has become a world-wide phenomenon in the last two years. And with An being only 16 years of age, it is notably sweet that she has other aspects of life that she enjoys.

With her track record of beating big names we might actually get to see her do the Floss Dance at Tokyo.
