South Korean mixed doubles specialist Kim Ha Na today announced her retirement on social media.

On her personal Instagram account, the 31-year-old wrote, “Should I call myself an ex-player now? In 2018, I withdrew from the national team and I completely stopped playing badminton in 2021, which I have been playing for 21 years.”

“I will work hard in my second life from now on, please support me. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do next,” she added.

Kim Ha Na married fellow badminton player Rho Ye Wook in 2018.

The Barcelona Spain Masters 2020 was her last international tournament. She won the tournament with partner Kim Sa Rang.

She was once ranked no. 1 in the mixed doubles world with Ko Sung Hyun and was also ranked as high as 5th in the women’s doubles.

She was also part of the South Korean team that won the Sudirman Cup in 2017.
