Jonatan Christie has tested positive for Covid-19 at the German Open during a routine PCR test.
Christie lost his second-round match yesterday against Kunlavut Vitidsarn 20-22, 9-21 in two straight games.
Christie’s coach Irwansyah said, “The test results had not come out yet during Jojo’s match against Thailand’s Kunlavut. It was only after the match that Jojo informed me that he had tested positive while all the other team members had negative results.”
“Entering the second game, Jojo said that his muscles were stiff, especially in the thighs… During the second game, Jojo often took deep breaths like he was physically exhausted. I didn’t think about Covid-19 (at that time) but maybe that’s a symptom,” he added.
