The Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) plans to send Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie to Asia Open I and Asia Open II next year. Their coach said they are both expected to reach the finals of the tournaments.

According to the Detik Sport, current men’s singles head coach Hendry Saputra is preparing the two players for the two Asian tournaments. He said, “We continue to prepare (players) even though there have been no tournaments so far. In the beginning of the next year, God willing, we will compete and play our best to add ranking points.”

Ginting and Christie, who are currently ranked 6th and 7th in the world respectively, last played the All England back in March. The two Indonesians are anticipated to return to international competition at the Asia Open I to be held on 12-17 January 2021.

Hendry said, “Yes, if possible the final rounds and winning the titles is our goal. It’s not easy because we haven’t competed in nine months but we are optimistic. “
