Sinisuka Ginting lost to Ng Ka Long Angus 18-21, 9-21 in the first round of the
Fuzhou China Open. The match lasted only 39 minutes.
This is a repeat of the first round match of the All England Championships
earlier this year where he lost to the Hong Kong China shuttler. With this
result, this is the fourth time Ginting has lost in the first round of a
tournament this year.
Coming into this match, Ng Ka Long Angus held an advantageous 6-3 head to head
over Ginting. Anthony Ginting had also lost the last two encounters against Ng
Ka Long.
Ginting was toe to toe with 16-16 score in the first game. Ng Ka Long raised the pace after this and Ginting could not follow suit. Ginting went down easily in the second game without showing much of a fight.
Anthony Ginting has a very low match winning rate of 63% in 2019. In contrast, his ‘rival’ Kento Momota has a match winning rate of 90% in 2019.
