The Chinese badminton scenario will be lively again as the 2020 National Badminton Championships commenced today. The event is scheduled from 28 October to 2 November at the Shaanxi Baoji University of Arts Stadium in Shaanxi province of China.
A total of 26 men’s teams and 18 women’s team are participating in the tournament.
More than 600 players have listed their names for participation. Big names like Chen Long, Zheng Si Wei, Huang Ya Qiong, Chen Qing Chen, Jia Yi Fan, Li Jun Hui, Liu Yu Chen and Chen Yu Fei are all going to be in attendance.
Lu Kai, who retired last year and former world No. 3 Du Peng Yu are also set to participate in the championships.
Women’s doubles world No. 1 Chen Qing Chen who is representing Guangdong said in an interview that for the last three years she had not played in the National Championships and was excited to play it this year. She said, “This time our team has set high targets.”
