Lakshya Sen, Ajay Jayaram and Subhankar Dey have returned to India after their ordeal at the SaarLorLux Open. DK Sen, Sen’s father cum coach along with physio Abhishek Wagh has also reached the country, said the BAI through their official Twitter account.
All three players were asked to withdraw the tournament after DK Sen tested positive for Covid-19 on 29 October. Everyone who came in contact with DK Sen including the three players was asked to stay in quarantine till the 10 November.

But on 2 November, BAI said that all the members of the team were allowed to return home after everyone tested negative for the virus. They will now be in seven-day home quarantine.
DK Sen told the TOI, “We were in quarantine since my first test came positive. The German officials did the second Covid Test for all five of us on November 1 and thankfully the reports came negative, so we immediately returned home.”
Through his social media account, last year’s SaarLorLux Open champion Lakshya Sen wrote, “I am very happy and relieved to be back home after testing negative for Covid-19.”
Subhankar Dey wrote on his social media, “Back to India yesterday after a tough week in Germany. I was very disappointed that I couldn’t get a chance to prove myself at SaarLorLux Open after a hard week of training at Vienna.”
