Kento Momota booked his semi-final spot at the Yonex French Open after registering his win against Indonesia’s Shesar Hiren Rhustavito yesterday in two straight games.

After the match, Momota told BWF, “The shuttle was quick and I had to make sure I wouldn’t make mistakes. It was very difficult physically. It was very important to win the first game. For the semifinal, I will have to see how I feel tomorrow.”

Momota has played on the court for a total of 695 minutes in the last 16 days and competing at the French Open has become a physical challenge for him.

Today, he will be going up against his teammate Kanta Tsuneyama in the semi-final.
